1. Why does Auto Shift tend not to work in ZKBio CVAccess?

Auto Shift may not work if:

  • Shifts are not correctly configured under "Schedule Template"
  • There are conflicting manual shifts assigned to the same user
  • The device hasn't synchronized with the server properly

Ensure correct time zones, schedule assignment, and device connectivity.

2. I need an access control that transmits directly to a phone app.

ZKTeco offers access control solutions like ZKBio CVSecurity and ZKBio CVAccess which work with ZKBio Zexus App to support:

  • Remote access logs
  • Mobile door unlock
  • Real-time monitoring

Devices must be compatible with mobile apps and configured under supported platforms.

3. ONVIF on V5L — How to activate it?

Only the newer batch models support the ONVIF Feature. Please confirm with the distributor before purchasing.

4. Are holidays auto-added for the following year, or do you configure them every year?

No, holidays must be manually configured each year. There is no auto-renewal feature for holiday settings in ZKBioTime.

5. How to integrate F18 (old model) with BioTime 9.5?

You need F18 firmware that supports ADMS.

6. How do you create a self-service portal for staff?

In BioTime 9.5, go to:

Personnel > Employee > Profile > Attendance Settings > Self-password

Staff can request edits, view transactions, or apply for leave.

9. Can your access control products be controlled via a phone app?

Yes, with the new ZKBio Zexus APP that works with ZKBio CVSecurity and ZKBio CVAccess software. Functions include:

  • Door unlock
  • Monitoring
  • User management (depending on device support)
10. Do you have smart locks? Can they be centrally and remotely managed?

Yes:

  • ZKTeco offers SmartLocks for Home and Hotel
  • Central control is possible via ZKBio CVSecurity for hotel locks or the ZSmart App for home locks
11. Meeting Module — What is it?

The Meeting Module in ZKBioTime or ZKBio CVSecurity allows:

  • Scheduling and managing meetings
  • Room access control tied to scheduled time
  • Participant authentication via biometrics or RFID
12. SMTP Server – How does one set it for email alerts?

Go to: System Module > Configuration > System Settings > Email Settings, then fill:

  • SMTP Server (e.g., smtp.gmail.com)
  • Port (usually 587 or 465)
  • Sender email credentials
  • Enable SSL/TLS

Test with "Send Test Email" to confirm.

13. Which databases are supported? Can it integrate with HR/Payroll?

Supported:

  • MySQL, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL
  • Integration with HR/Payroll is possible via API
16. How to enable punch state on devices that don't have it (e.g., F22)?

For devices without punch state, contact support via +254742444000.

17. Is BioTime 9.5 free for life or limited?

BioTime 9.5 offers a Free lifetime version for up to 2 devices and up to 500 users, and a paid license for exceeding devices or users. The software download is preactivated with the free version.

19. Why does "Total Time Card" report not show time after check-in?

The Check-in end time is too early or shifts are not scheduled to employees.

20. How to set up the punch state?

On the device go to Device Menu > Personalize > Punch State Options.

If punch state option is not available on the device, call support on +254742444000.
